After spending a few months researching information about the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and their Out of the Darkness Walks events to celebrate the lives of those who lost their lives to suicide, Heather and I decided to volunteer at the event. Though the walk around Coors Stadium in Denver, Colorado is somber, butterflies can be purchased to release at the event before the walk begins, often uplifting the spirits of those in attendance.
